becomes

A House of Music for All People

We warmly welcome you to the homepage of Chamber Music at St. Stephen’s and the choir of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, located in historic Charleston, South Carolina — where our parish widely known for being “A House of Prayer for All People” becomes “A House of Music for All People.”

Upcoming Events

Thanks to the generous gifts of our donors, all 2026-2027 Chamber Music events are free and welcome to the public.

Kick off Charleston Pride Week with a diocesan-wide Pride Evensong taking place on Sunday, October 11th, 2026 at 5:00 P.M. at the parish of St. Stephen's in Charleston. The choir will be composed of singers from across the diocese and a highlight will be their début of a piece by Dominick DiOrio entitled "Our Wildest Imagining," with libretto composed out of stories, sermons and sayings by the Church's first openly-gay bishop, the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson. Homily to be given by the Rt. Rev. Ruth Woodliff-Stanley and the evensong will be followed by a light reception.

All are welcome to this event at the diocese's historically LGBTQ-affirming "House of Prayer for All People!"

“The Divine is unsayable; that’s why we sing a lot.”
